Hey everyone,

ok i badly need to be able to draw some cartoon characters (just normal looking humans) for a project. However i totally suck at it at the moment.

i am asking for any help by giving tips, links to tutorials or whatever to be posted below to help me

This is NOT that japanese anime stuff and the colouring will be single block colours, but i just cant draw cartoon perspectives!

Yes i fucked up.

I wont say what i got. Lets just say it was ATLEAST 2 whole grades below what i was predicted.

So its unlikely i will be accepted into University now.. i am yet to hear from them so far.

In other news, looks like i might brush the dust off my Photoshop and get some more space scenes going.

Firstly, thanks to any of the 6 people who bothered to comment on my latest terragen piece, i appreciate it.

other news, i have been working on a new Terragen piece for a number of weeks now, only recently started doing post work to it.. when i decided i would render it 3 more times with some different settings to help with the post work.  Never before have i spent this much time doing extra to a terragen piece, so im pretty proud of this so far!

Ok so my trial subscription ended, and that sucks because the subscriptions rule!

I have spent the last 2 hours on an artificial lens flare.. i hate the look of the photoshop Render > Lens Flare stuff in space art, so i am creating my own lens flare template that i can copy into my work whenever i need a lightsource.
Some may be thinking why not just create each flare as you need it?. The answer is, i have tried that, and somehow it ALWAYS seems to come out very low quality somehow..
So i am creating this one at 3000 x 3000 and some stupidly large pix/inch (or whatever) and its taking like a minute to register each brush stroke.

Ok i now have 120+ people watching me, however, on my latest piece, i have so far had no more than 5 comments.... i need to progress, so i need crit

News

Uploaded a minimalistic Space scene, had a bit of a mixed response. The title gives a bit of a insight to the actual art piece, but the main reason for the image was to practice creating planets. Whilst it is a definate improvement on my planets made a year ago i still know i can do better.

I have also made a promise to myself, if after my next few space scenes become pretty popular (as in more than a mere 24 people comment on them ) then i will buy myself a subscription in a couple of months. Unless ofcourse someone else has it in them to buy one for me but i would never ask anyone personally for that.
I dont see much point in spending £16 on a subscription though if i continue to get very few comments, so well have to see how it goes

Also dont forget to check out the Featured artist and deviation! they are picked for a reason, outstanding artwork, so head on over and give them a comment

Started on a new Space scene, it is going to be a sort of collab with a very well know and talented Space Artist here on DA, more of that closer to the time though.

Also i have began work on a digital painting. All i will tell you now is that its of a US Marine, thats all the info your getting for now.

News

Not much art from me at the moment or for a while as i have exams for another few weeks, afterwards is summer and time to go outside. But i will still be up for collabs. Not happy at all with any of my work at the moment which is why none will be submitted. Trying desperately to create a nice unique method for nebulae but its getting nowhere, so i think it will have to go on hold.

I've gone Mad editing my Deviations this morning.. hope they have improved!
